I bought a pair of these to hold the front speakers in my Onkyo SKS-HT540 speaker system. The speakers are a little over 8 lbs and are the perfect size for the mounting plate that comes with these stands. If you have the Onkyo SKS-HT540 speaker system then I would definitely give these stands a try you will not be disappointed, as they look as though they were made for one another. The stands have an attractive powder-coated finish to them that also go great with my Z-line smoked glass TV stand. They are sturdy, functional, and look great, what more could you ask for?

4 out of 5 stars Good quality at a reasonable price   May 17, 2007

I bought a set of these speaker stands in 2005 and use them to support a pair of tall, skinny mini-monitors in my bedroom system. They assembled easily and provide a stable base for the speakers. I'd give them five stars but for two minor deficiencies. First, the platforms are kind of small, which makes them suitable only for speakers with a small footprint. If you want to use them with larger speakers, you'll need to fasten the speakers to the top plates using screws. Fortunately, there are slots provided so you can do this. My second minor quibble is that these aren't very pretty stands. The black crinkle-finish support columns are kinda industrial looking, and the bases are done in a speckled gray finish that always looks dusty. Aside from these two slight drawbacks, however, they are fine stands for the money -- especially for use with smaller speakers. I'd give them 4.5 stars if that were possible.
