4 out of 5 stars Good looks and performance   August 28, 2009

I have always liked the Jazz series from Lovan. However, I had never order any. I finally made the decision to do so and boy am I glad I did. I recently moved my Paradigm Studio 40 speakers from my basement audio set up to my HT upstairs. However the small 16 inch stands I had for them were not suitable for my living room as they were too small. The extra two inches from the Lovan Jazz 18" did the trick. The stands will help protect your floors, if you have wood, as the spikes are not designed to go thru carpet as they are somewhat rounded. However, they still give you some decoupling to help isolate the speaker. Please note that these stands are designed for heavier speakers too. They may have a tendency to tip over at the 9 and 3 o'clock positions with small speakers. My Paradigms weigh in at 26 pounds each so this has not been an issue.

By the way, mine arrived in excellent condition. When your stands arrive don't panic as you may think they left parts out. Lovan screwed in the leg extensions to save space so you will need to undo them before putting them together.

If you have mid size speakers then you can't go wrong with this stand. They look great with any decor.

My stands arrived full of scratches and finish defects from the factory. No shipping damage to blame this on. Furthermore, contrary to listed specs you can't sand fill these unless you want a small beach in your living room owing to the large gaps in the joints. Hey Lovan---did you actually ever TRY this!!!!!!!!!! What a waste of money.

5 out of 5 stars Great Product! I bought a pair for my best buddy!   July 8, 2008

These jazz speaker stands have done fantastic for my theater setup at home. I love the color and quality of this product. I've had no problems with them and have purchased another pair for my best buddy for his birthday and he quickly loved the product! One recommendation though, make sure you pick up footers, that will protect your floor and keep this product more stable than it already is.

1 out of 5 stars Lovan Jazz stand is not stable   January 1, 2008

This is an attractive stand, but it does not do what a properly designed speaker stand ought to do, on two counts. First, the stand is unstable. With a 16-pound monitor, it topples easily with a horizontal force in the 1:30 direction (front-to-back axis, 6:00 to 12:00). Second, the spikes have rounded tips so it does not sink firmly into carpeting, adding to the stability problem, and failing to anchor the stand/speaker firmly to the floor. As much as I like the look of the Lovan Jazz stand, I would not buy it again.
