 Surround sound speaker stands August 20, 2010

These stands are as advertised and very good.
The good - good quality, sturdy and very stable with small Klipsch HDT1000 surround speakers. Several mounting solutions and 1 worked with these speakers. Choice of straight or angled upper pole.
The not so great - Speaker wires come out of the pole above the base instead of going all the way to the floor and exiting under the base. Poles are rather thick and visually obtrusive. I may paint mine the color of the walls to help minimize. They come with the straight poles installed and removing them and installing the angled ones was a little difficult.

The unit had plenty of additional parts to adapt to any make or model of speakers. The height too can be adjusted between a range of about 4 to 10 feet.

We had alresdy purchased a set of these speakers when we bought a 2.1 surrond sound theater system so we know they were good. They are very solidly constructed and have attachments for asicallyany kind of speaker under 10lbs you use.
We decided to expand our system to 5.1 and there was no question as to what speaker stands to buy for the extra speakers.
Everything is now set up and the stands were perfect for adjusting the speakers just the way we needed them.

I have been around high end audio and video since the 1970's, and have had experience with the finest money can buy. When I saw these, and saw the claim to reproduce the Dolby experience consistent with Dolby Labs specs., I was ready to pull the trigger. The product itself is well-made and of first quality. Assembly was a breeze. However, none of the various mounting plates and adaptors worked properly with my Klipsch Quintet II speakers. One set mounted properly to the speaker, but did not tilt the speaker downward as required of the rear speakers. I contacted the factory, and they said they were not aware of the problem, and that they might not engineer a fix. In short, if you are wanting the Dolby experience, buy these IF they will work with your speakers.

These stands are well made and exceeded my expectations, given the quality of many of today's products. Many great features that make it the best value for your situation: 1) The max height of these stands versus most of the others out there. These are almost 5 feet tall, which gets you over most obstacles in your TV room, including the TV/stand itself. 2) The 6 different speaker mounts that are included, which covers about any speaker type and mounting option. 3) Concealed wire path. and 4) Vertical and angled post options. If you buy these stands and are disappointed, then you are too difficult to please.
